These are my FAVORITE sessions to take! I love seeing the children's excitement in their faces, hearing their sweet little voices tell Santa their wishes, and watching the parents melt while seeing the magic of childhood during Christmas unfold in front of them. Many families tell me that Christmas STARTS after they come for their Santa portraits. You will NOT regret taking these portraits with your children and I cannot wait to meet your family!
Storybook Santa sessions are a one day event and will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018.
The Details About How To Schedule:
Please send me an email at jeannie@jeannieblinsonphotography to request a reservation with Mr. Claus. When responding to request a time, PLEASE include this information:
The Financial Details:
1. The Session fee for Santa is $25 for the first subject and $5 for each additional subject. The session fee is payable the day of your session by either cash or check.
2. "Cousin" sessions will require consecutive appointment times and separate minimum purchases (one for each booking).
3. The minimum purchase is The Capa print collection which is $250, but you are always welcome to upgrade to a higher print collection. A $50 retainer will be taken to secure your time. The retainer will be invoiced to you once your signed contract is returned and will be due by October 15, 2018. If your retainer is not paid by that date, your time will be offered to the next person on the waiting list. The retainer will be applied to your portrait order.
4. Christmas cards DO NOT count towards your minimum purchase. They can be added once a 5 sheet print collection has been purchased.
A Couple More Details:
1. "Dear Santa" starts as a first come first serve event, but as the schedule tightens up, it doesn't stay that way. As I end up with small times to fill, I ultimately have to start booking ages of children that will work in the remaining spaces.
2. "Dear Santa" is not usually a good event for family photos. The set is small and doesn't accommodate multiple adults with their kids very well- talk to us ahead of time to see if we can make it work. Unfortunately, pets are not allowed for Storybook Santa sessions. There is too much risk with so many little children coming through on Santa session day. I am MORE than happy to take sessions with your fur babies on a different date!
3. Once you are booked, your contract has been signed and your retainer paid I will send you an email with wardrobe details. I have even included links to outfits that will work for your session!

Fear is a real booger isn't it? It holds us back in so many ways. Admittedly, I have always been one to allow fear to control me even though one of my favorite quotes is "Always do what you are afraid to do" by Ralph Waldo Emerson. Having FINALLY pushed some of my fears aside, at least momentarily, I recently entered some pretty big print competitions. As most artist do, I pour my heart and soul into every image I create so you can see how having experts critique my work has been a bit on the terrifying side. Like all things in life the only way to grow is to learn from the mistakes, so this was a fear I had to squash. The results are in and, while I still have a lot of work to do to improve, I don't totally suck! ;-)
A few months ago I submitted some of my portrait work into the PPNC (Professional Photographers of North Carolina) state print competition and the IPC (International Print Competition) through PPA (Professional Photographers of America). I am happy to say at PPNC four out of four of my images merited! Woohooo! I entered IPC for the first time ever and three out of those four images merited! I couldn't believe it! I am even happier to say that in both competitions all portraits submitted were from my past client work.
Next year my goal is to get all four out of four portraits to merit at both PPNC and IPC. These competitions will mean higher level work for my clients because it pushes me out of my comfort zone and takes my creativity to a whole new level. I am so grateful that God has blessed me with this gift and thankful to all of you for the love and support over the years! Here's to bigger dreams, higher goals, and better results in 2019!
Now, I would love to hear from you. What fear are YOU going to go conquer today?
I hope you are enjoying your summer with your kiddos! We have had a fun and nutty summer! Like a lot of you crazy busy parents, we had a baseball tournament this past weekend. Fortunately for me, it was at the beach...photo opp!! I was determined we were not leaving the beach without taking an updated portrait of Joseph because he just turned 9 at the end of June. The deal was that if he gave me twenty minutes and decent expressions then I would boogie board with him (I DO NOT like swimming in the ocean with the jellyfish, sharks, and who knows what else). He obliged...reluctantly. I grabbed my gear, threw his freshly ironed clothes on him and thanked the good Lord above that these portraits are not scratch and sniff because...well...he is a boy...on a mini vacation from both life and showering....during a baseball tournament. Blech! I put the camera up, looked through the lens, and I immediately thought to myself "Wow! He looks so grown up here" but brushed it off because he's my baby and that is not ever happening to MY little guy. However, after downloading the memory card and looking at the images it hit me like a freight train that he is morphing into a young man right before my eyes. He is still my little boy but in some of these images I can already see glimpses of the man that he will become.
Then another emotional load of bricks hit me! We are already half way through his time with us because WE ONLY GET 18 SUMMERS WITH OUR BABIES! 18. SUMMERS. Whoa Nelly! In that moment of shock and denial I realized how thankful I am to have portraits of him multiple times throughout each year of his life...even in these awkward years. Most parents make the comment that they don't want to take portraits during the "tween" years, they want to wait until they have teeth straighten after braces. I am here to tell you, you will regret missing these last images capturing some of the baby in their face as it transitions to young adulthood. These aren't just "portraits" they are moments in time that we can revisit anytime we want. Now, more than ever, I see the true value in them and am so happy to have made the investment. Unlike the newest iPhone or daily Starbucks coffee, they become absolutely priceless in value.
Make it a priority even if you have to slap on a bathing suit and go swim with the sharks. The trade off is SO worth it!
Love + Hugs,
It seems like the holidays arrive faster each year. It is hard to believe that Christmas 2017 is just around the corner!
I would love to help you give THE perfect gifts this year, Grandparents love getting portraits of their Grandbabies. From 8x10 gift prints to custom fine art oil paintings, there is something to fit everyone's budget.
I can also help you with creating the perfect Christmas card. Don't sit there fighting with shutterfly trying to cram a photo (that you may not even love) into a template that will not work. I can design your card and get them printed on a high quality linen paper. I would like to make your holidays a little bit brighter by making them easier for you! Below you will see all of your options for cards this year, there are some lovely designs! As always, if you have any questions please call me so I can help.
To see each design larger, click this LINK. Please note that the gold look in the card templates is not actually foil.
If you prefer to create your own cards, you can purchase digital files and create your own cards. Unfortunatley, I cannot assist with cards created using other vendors sites nor can I guarantee the results yielded from using another printing company.
Finally, thank you for being a part of my family for so many years, I love having the privilege of watching your babies grow up year after year. It is truly an honor to be your family's portrait artist!
